Recording and correcting a visit

Notes, vitals, prescription, vaccination and follow-up, saved as one record.

  1. Choose Start visit on an appointment, or New visit in the sidebar and pick the patient.
  2. Check the amber banner under the pet's name: allergies and long-term conditions, and what the owner asked the vet to know. Add or correct them there as soon as you hear of one.
  3. Choose the pet's health after the visit. It has no default, so a visit is never marked Healthy by being left alone.
  4. Fill in what applies: visit type, complaint, diagnosis, treatment and vitals. A new weight updates the pet's profile.
  5. Add medications for a prescription. Frequencies print for the owner in plain words as well as the usual abbreviation.
  6. Record a vaccination and its next due date, and a follow-up if one is needed.
  7. Choose Save visit. Everything is saved together, and the owner sees it at once.

Quick visit: a photo of the prescription

Wrote the prescription on paper? Choose Quick visit (the camera at the bottom of a phone, or beside Start visit on Today), take a photo of each page and choose Save visit. That is the visit: the appointment closes and the owner sees the photos in their app.

A one-line diagnosis is optional. Tap Vaccine given today and Next visit if they apply, so the vaccine shows in Vaccines due and the next visit on your follow-ups. To type the visit up later, open it from Visits on a computer and choose Edit; the photos stay with it.

What the owner sees of a follow-up

Their pet's name, your clinic and the due date, on their home page, with Book and Add to calendar. Your reason and notes stay here. Give it a due date, so they can put it in their calendar. Once they book a visit with you, it leaves their home page; mark it done here when it's done.

Correcting a visit

Find it under Visits and choose Edit. Only the vet who wrote a record can change it. Vaccinations and follow-ups are separate records and are not changed by an edit.

Prescriptions

Download the PDF from Visits. It carries your clinic's name, address, phone and clinic registration number, and your vet registration number, so set those in Profile first.
